The program I serve in, Children First, serves the Buncombe County area with a mission to improve the lives of children, youth and their families through community collaboration, advocacy and programs. If you’re in the Asheville, NC, area and would like to help me save the world by making the future brighter for a bunch of great kids and their families, here’s how:
We need volunteers to help tutor, mentor, provide homework help, supervise kids at homework clubs, assist with special events, provide enrichment activities and offer program support in any number of ways.
If you want to help, we can find a way to put you and your talents to good use. If nothing else, maybe you can organize a volunteer group or fundraiser at your place of work or worship.
We need donations of goods, services and money to help us fulfill our mission. If you’ve got it, we can probably find a way to use it.
Spread the word:
Publicity, media coverage, space in your newsletter or magazine – it’s all good.
