Spring broke

Well, so much for spring break.

And so much for spring, while I’m at it. WTF? 81 mile per hour winds, snow, rain and the power going off…and on…and off…and on…offonoffonoffon…and off…well, you get the picture. What ever happened to zip-a-dee-do-dah, gentle breezes, warm sunshine, happy butterflies, playfully anthropomorphized songbirds and all that stuff? We had a two-hour delay at school this morning due to icy roads, downed trees, traffic light outages and, no doubt, several non-functioning alarm clocks. Not a zip, dee or dodah as far as the eye can see. I’ve been gypped.

The kids were barely holding on to the frazzled edges of their behavior all day, and completely fell apart at the end, resulting in a mass exodus “en huff” by the whole group about 15 minutes early. Great. Two more months to go and they’re already hip-deep in spring fever. This is going to be so much FUN! Not. 😛

On top of that, the order for all the goody-gifts for our volunteer appreciation dinner, which is coming up this Thursday, apparently never made it out of requisitions. So we had to do an emergency rush order to get it here in time, which cost us an extra $70 in shipping!
